Dudley Museum opened in 1884 as a library and art school with a single gallery for pictures. Today it combines permanent art, geology and fossil collections with contemporary exhibitions, local interest shows and hands-on exhibitions related to the school curriculum. The museum holds a huge collection of fossils, currently displayed across two galleries.
