Dove Cottage and its period rooms was William Wordsworth's home during his most prolific years as a poet; his sister, Dorothy, wrote her famous Grasmere Journals here. Thomas de Quincey later occupied the house. Over 90% of Wordsworth's surviving manuscripts are now in the Collection at the Wordsworth Trust, along with the works of over 4,000 named writers and artists.
