Recently restored 18th-century country house and park, with a refurbished chapel by James Paine which features the work of Francis Hayman, Joseph Rose and Samuel Wale. The house contains displays of local and social history, illustrating everyday life in the Doncaster area over the last 250 years.

Displays about life in a country house, leisure and sport, local industries such as mining and railways, sweet making and crafts. Other themes are birth and childhood, food, domestic life, medicine and costume, and death and religion.
