This museum is in the 17th-century house on the harbourside where the young Cook lodged as apprentice. The restored house contains original paintings, documents and artefacts relating to Cook's life and explorations, together with those who sailed with him. The collection includes 11 Art Fund assisted acquisitions, including the recently acquired drawings by John Webber of natives of Kamchatka(1779).
