The museum explores the changing social and industrial history of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury. The displays feature the Thomas Wrigley Collection of Victorian paintings, including works by Turner, Constable and Landseer. There is also a 20th-century collection of art, a collection of manuscripts, books and maps, and a programme of contemporary art exhibitions.
