The collection is divided into departments: Africa, Oceania and the Americas; Ancient Egypt and Sudan; Asia; Coins and Medals; Conservation, Documentation and Science; Greek and Roman Antiquities; Middle East; Portable Antiquities and Treasure; Prehistory and Europe; and Prints and Drawing. Several temporary exhibitions are shown throughout the year.
