Art Fund Members - reduced entry rates and exhibition rates

Opened in 1904 as a gallery devoted to the art of G F Watts and a permanent exhibition of his art. The collection consists of paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture that were owned by Watts and his studio collection. Watts Gallery is one of the only purpose-built art galleries to show a single artist’s collection.

It is an early example of an Arts and Crafts building, is Grade 2 Listed and was built not only as a Gallery but also to serve as a hostel for apprentice potters working at the pottery founded by Mary Watts. The nearby chapel which is an extraordinary, Art Nouveau, Grade 1 Listed building, designed by Mary Watts, together with the pottery buildings and the gallery, create for visitors an unparalleled insight into the late Victorian era.
