A diverse museum, from archaeology to cutting edge contemporary art. It embraces the region’s premier art gallery, the Usher, with a wide ranging collection of Fine and Decorative Arts. Displays include clocks, watches, miniatures, porcelain, silver and glass, the largest public collection of works by Peter De Wint, and topographical paintings of Lincolnshire.

The archaeological collections span over 300,000 years of Lincolnshire’s past, including a wealth of artefacts from the Stone Age, through the Roman and Viking periods, to the Medieval period. The Collection was short-listed for the prestigious Gulbenkian Prize for Museum of the Year 2006. Both venues have an extensive exhibitions programme.
