Mainly a 16th-century country house, Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum has period rooms and museum displays. The collection includes 18th- and 19th-century English watercolours, oils, children’s book illustrators, contemporary pottery, local archaeology, Egyptology, militaria, social and natural history, and the decorative arts.
