Among the archaeological and artistic collections is a major collection of the fine and decorative arts. Famous for its collection of Pre-Raphaelite pictures, the gallery holds over 1,000 works by Birmingham-born artist, Sir Edward Burne-Jones. The Gas Hall gallery houses large scale temporary exhibitions while the Waterhall gallery is devoted to modern and contemporary art.
