Collections include Northeast natural history and geology, and Sunderland archaeology, including social history, ship-building and coal mining. Also on display are ceramics and glass, and fine art from the 19th century to contemporary paintings, drawings and prints. The Winter Gardens is home to over 2,000 of the world's most exotic and unusual plants, flowers and trees.
