Housed in a fine Victorian building, The Royal Albert Memorial Museum has three special exhibition spaces; the changing displays range from national touring shows to community displays, as well as fine art from the city’s collection and work by local artists and makers. Exhibitions drawn from the city’s collection include glassware, West Country silver, clocks and watches, local history and archaeology. The natural history section displays exotic animals, birds and butterflies; there is also a fine display of local history and a World Cultures gallery.

The museum will be closed from 1 December 2007 until 2010 for a £15million programme of modernisation and transformation. During this time RAMM will take its lively programme of exhibitions and activities out into the city and the county.
