The Bate Collection of Musical Instruments includes European instruments of the baroque, classical and romantic periods. There are early keyboards and a bow-maker's workshop. The collection includes portraits of composers and a specialist library on Organology. Many of the instruments are available for visitors to play, either during special events or by appointment.
