Home to an unrivalled collection of 19th century and early 20th-century photography, as well as the first ever negative. The Kodak Gallery takes you on a journey through the history of popular photography, from the world's first photographs to today's digital snapshots.

It is best regarded as a collection of collections, encompassing the Science Museum, the Royal Photographic Society Collection, the Kodak Museum and the Daily Herald Archive. It covers the aesthetic and technical developments of photography, from the earliest experiments to contemporary digital imaging. One of the major strengths of the collection is its diversity. All major genres, applications and photographic movements are represented.
