The galleries cover the history of Lancashire. In particular, there are collections relating to three local regiments: the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry, the 14th/20th King’s Hussars, and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment. The diverse collections are of regional significance and include archaeology, social and military history, fine and decorative arts.
