A Grade 1 listed town house, dating from the 17th-century, Judges' Lodgings are furnished with a collection of 18th- to 20th-century Gillow (Lancaster) furniture to recreate period rooms lived in by the judges. There is also a fine display of porcelain, silver and paintings.

The second floor houses the Museum of Childhood, with toys, games, dolls houses and dolls, dating from the 18th-century to the present day. A recreation of an Edwardian schoolroom is included.
