In 1795 the Earl Bishop created Ickworth, with its central Rotunda and curved corridors, to display paintings by Titian, Gainsborough and Velázquez and a magnificent Georgian silver collection. An Italianate garden lies to the south of the house, with 1800 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown parkland with woodland, vineyard, Georgian summerhouse, church and canal.
