The Hunterian houses one of the most distinguished public art collections in Scotland. The collections include over 450 paintings (Rembrandt, Chardin, Stubbs, Whistler, Glasgow Boys and Scottish Colourists) and 40,000 works on paper, together with more modest holdings of applied and decorative art (Mackintosh, Scottish ceramics, Whistler memorabilia), and sculpture.
