This is a treasure-packed and gossip-filled house which invites the visitor to discover the salacious scandals embedded in the hall's history. Our favourite is the story of the 7th Earl of Stamford, who married Catherine Cocks, a former bare-back circus rider.
Permanent collections
The elegant Georgian building itself has handsome interiors housing fine collections of furniture, portraits and Huguenot silver. Take a look ‘below stairs’ at the service wing to learn about the running of a country house.
Art Funded works
A helmet shaped George II silver ewer from the Warrington plate is believed to have been made by David Willaume II and is engraved with George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington's armorials.
Two sconces from a set of six, one depicting Diana and Actaeon, the other Prometheus bound were commissioned by Lord Warrington for the Great Bedchamber at Dunham Massey.
Visitor information
