Christ Church Picture Gallery
Overview
Christ Church is unique among the Oxford and Cambridge colleges in possessing an outstanding collection of Old Master paintings and drawings – some 300 paintings and almost 2,000 drawings, housed in a purpose-built gallery of considerable architectural interest. The collection of Old Master drawings, bequeathed to Christ Church by General John Guise in 1765, is one of the most important in the country, and includes works by Leonardo, Michelangelo, Dürer, Raphael and Rubens.
