With access to more than 30 rooms, visitors are offered a unique insight into the patronage of successive generations of the Constable family. The interiors of this Elizabethan mansion are filled with fine furniture, paintings and sculpture, a library of 5,000 books and a remarkable 18th-century ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ containing fossils, natural history specimens and the most important collection of scientific instruments to be found in any country house. The house is set in 300 acres of parkland.
