Brueghel saved for the nation |
What better way to begin 2011 than with the news that with your help and support, we have reached the £2.7 million target needed to save the remarkable painting The Procession to Calvary for Nostell Priory after 3 months of campaigning with the National Trust.
Our own grant of £500,000 started the campaign in September, £540,000 came from trusts and foundations and £1,034,000 from the National Heritage Memorial Fund. Plus over £680,000 was donated by members of the public, including National Trust and Art Fund members and supporters. The full £2.7 million has been raised and the work can now be kept on display at its West Yorkshire home, Nostell Priory.
