Description:
This work is a reconfiguration of an installation commissioned for the opening displays of Tate Modern in 2000. The installation resembles the interior of a workshop full of everyday materials, but is actually an accumulation of polyurethane sculptures carefully carved and painted to seem indistinguishable from the originals. The artists visited Tate Modern a few months before it opened, when construction was still in progress. The installation was designed, in part, to recreate a sense of that working environment.
