Discovered near Shalfleet by a metal detectorist.

Description:
This vessel was probably used in baptism ceremonies and dates from the same period when Anglo Saxon England was slowly becoming Christianised. This object represents the beginning of the process of Christianisation on the Isle of Wight and is the earliest example of the Christian church's religious tools.
