Description:
A highly coloured depiction of the tree which stands at end of Sutton's garden in Manorbier in Pembrokeshire. Sutton's canvas is optimistic and cheerful, but it also contains a sense of introspection and enquiry. He captures the tree over a period of time rather than one moment which reflects the artist's relationship with trees as a source of inspiration and elemental energy.
