Description:
This ceramic bowl with text contrasts nicely with Spira's work from the earlier gift by the Goodisons through The Art Fund in 2000 of a white cylindrical vessel with a vertical inscription. Together they enhance a large group of ceramics in the Fitzwilliam whose decoration features calligraphy in various media.
