Description:
The boar was a prominent symbol in Celtic mythology and iconography. This is especially true of the Corieltauvi tribe who occupied much of the East Midlands and Lincolnshire in the Iron Age. This figurine has no methods of attachment suggesting that it was intended as a votive object rather than a mount for a helmet or a bowl.
