Thomas Middleton Trollope married Isabella Thorold in 1759 joining two Lincolnshire families, the Trollope's of Casewick near Stamford and the Thorold's of Syston near Grantham. Reynolds portraits exude calm dignity, classical allusions and a realistic portrayal of character.
