Description:
Albert Richards was, arguably, one of the most significant Official War Artists of WWII. These two paintings are closely linked to his development as a War Artist, recording his service with the Royal Engineers. They were never submitted to the WAAC, remaining instead with his family. The smaller panel, Inglesham Church and Rectory is a preliminary study for The Minute Halt and was given by Richards to his mother.
