Description:
The painting marks an important point in the ship's history, her return from the Antarctic after the Discovery Oceanographic Expedition of 1925-27, the first maritime research undertaken to explore the natural habitat of the whale, their migration patterns and numbers. The ship is seen at anchor when it berthed at Falmouth in 1927.
