Description:
The Como teaset, designed in 1957, is an outstanding example of expressionist organic design from the postwar period and a key Modernist object. It exemplifies Sabbatini's romantic version of Modernism, which was opposed to geometric functionalism and joined fantasy with technology. It is his most celebrated design and was in production from 1959 until 1970. The prototype won a prize at the 1957 exhibition 'Formes et Idées d'Italie' in Paris.
