9th-10th Century

This ring is thought to be early medieval in date. It is decorated with wide, shallow facets created by hammering. This decoration is similar to Viking designs and the ring is possibly of Viking origin. It was discovered at Nercwys, near Mold. The nearest other Viking finds have been on the North Wales coast, Chester, and at Meols on the Wirral peninsula.
