The apostle spoon has the figure of St. Matthew at the top with the emblem of St. Matthew's moneybag forming part of the casting of the figure rather than being soldered on. There are few surviving examples of secular silver from Kings Lynn and this spoon is the earliest known example with the Kings Lynn town mark.
