Description:
Portrait busts of Sir William Fermor, 1st Bt. (1621-1661) and his wife Mary (1628-1670). Sir William inherited the Easton Neston family estate in Northamptonshire in 1640 and was created a baronet the following year by King Charles. In 1658, the year of his portrayal, Sir William was publicly listed as a Northamptonshire royalist without military rank and he later became a member of the new Privy Council that restored the monarchy.
