Description:
The vase has been created from a sheet of copper hammered into shape with the geometric pattern of raised spots on the body of the vase and fluted vertical lines on the neck being created through a combination of hammering and punching. The tin plating produces a dull surface making the viewer question what the vase is made from. Kaneko is fascinated with perspective and this piece appears 2-dimensional when viewed from the front or at a distance.
