Description:
All 9 photographs result from the collaboration of Hill and Robert Adamson before Adamson's early death in 1848 using the calotype process developed by Henry Fox Talbot in 1839. 1) St. Andrew's Harbour; 2) Mary Hamilton, Lady Ruthven; 3) Burnside, Fife; 4) The Fishergate, St. Andrew's; 5) Rev. Dr. James Brewster; 6) Mrs Anna Jamieson; 7) Rev. Dr. Thomas Chalmers; 8) Scott Monument, Edinburgh, during construction; 9) Roslin Chapel.
