Description:
This watercolour was part of the preparatory work for the commission of a mural for the Refectory at Morley College, London. The commission was secured by Ravilious working closely with his friend Edward Bawden. The harlequin appeared in the top right corner of the mural which was destroyed in the Second World War during a bombing raid in 1940.
