Ken Eastman (born 1960)

Ulster Museum

2002

Eastman's ceramic sculptures have a strong architectural influence. This piece is hand-slabbed, together with layered-on painted dry glazes to create tonal effects which enhance the form. The artist has always challenged the traditional use of clay to make vessels or pots and moving studio in 1998 allowed him to remove the restriction of size on his work.
