Description:
Lathom House was built for Sir Thomas Bootle around 1740 and its surrounding landscape garden with deer park was designed by Repton in 1792. Red Books were used by Repton essentially as marketing tools containing plans and possible improvements to an estate. The Lathom House book includes 2 partially handcoloured plans and 4 watercolours. 3 of the watercolours have the characteristic overlays by Repton.
