The Collection: Art and Archaeology in Lincolnshire

late 6th Century

1) A hollow cast mount in a pyramidal form with eight triangles on each face with niello-inlaid recesses inbetween. Five of the triangles are gilded and the mount is set with a square-cut malachite at the apex (illustrated). 2) The ring has a punched decoration with triangular designs around the edges and thunder signs around the median.
