Description:
The manuscript contains 58 watercolours which are based on the lithographed illustrations in Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick's influential work, 'Criticial Enquiry into Ancient Armour', published in 1824. However the watercolours differ substantially in their details and at least one, the 'David Earl of Huntingdon', is completely different from the published plates.
