Description:
The painting depicts Sir William and his rival 'Mr Schute of Pickenham' on a very crowded Swaffham Market Place in 1837 trying to persuade the electorate to 'vote for me'. The outline and upper stories of the buildings in the background have changed little since the artist recorded them.
