Description:
Josef Hoffmann was the most important designer behind the foundation of the Wiener Werkstatte where this piece was made. His designs for metalwork earned him the nickname 'quadratl' Hoffmann and a place as a pioneer of geometrical Modernist design. This piece is one of the most uncompromising of Hoffmann's proto-modernist grid designs.
