Description:
On the obverse, the coin displays a design taken from the Scottish Rebellion medal of 1639 with the king riding into battle on a galloping horse, his right arm holding a baton and the trampled arms below. The reverse shows the Royal Arms, incorporating the date '1642' in a cartouche below. Dated 1642 but issued in 1644.
