Provenance:
The hoard was found near Bideford, Devon in 2001 and declared Treasure in 2002.

Description:
The hoard consists of 435 coins, mainly produced for the 16th and 17th century kings and queens of England, with the exception of two coins for Philip IV of Spain. The hoard includes English coins from the following periods: Edward VI 1550-1553; Mary, 1553-1554; Philip and Mary, 1554-1558; Elizabeth I, 1558-1603; James I, 1603-1625; Charles I, 1625-1649; Commonwealth, 1651-1653; and James I coins minted in Ireland.
