Provenance:
After the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588, galleas Girona was wrecked off the North Antrim coast; 1967-9, treasure recovered by Stenuit, Belgian underwater archaeologist.

Description:
Agnus Dei reliquary which contained pellets of wax from a Paschal candle, mixed with holy oil, as a luck charm. Some of the pellets were still in it when it was found on the sea bed. Part of the finds from the Girona wreck.
