By descent to Jane Broke who married 5th Baron de Saumarez; thence by descent; on loan to Gainsborough's House since 1961.

Description:
A portrait of Lambe Barry (1704-1768), High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1748 and listed as a Free-burgess of Ipswich in 1755. The sitter is depicted in a wig against a dark leafy background. Now thought to have been painted during the sitter's visit to Bath.
