Purchased by vendor as part of larger lot at Lawrence Fine Auctioneers, Taunton 2000 for £33,000. The items had come to the auction directly from the family.

Description:
Blade decorated with Highlander holding the sword, 1805. Sphinx and 'Egypt' are prominent on the hilt and scabbard. Blade is corroded on lower third. Pocket watch hallmarked 1772; the portrait engraving is contained in its original gilt frame, c. 1805. Pocket watch (movement: Thomas Reid, Edinburgh, Watch: Thomas Dobbie, Glasgow); Engraving, circa 1805: artist unknown.
