Made for presentation to the Prince of Orange in 1796; Philips (6/12/1995, lot 298); present owner.

Description:
Plate elaborately decorated with the arms of the Prince of Orange. The plate was presented to the Dutch Prince of Orange, Stadtholder Willem V (cousin of King Geroge III) and his wife Princess Wilhelmina during their visit to the Ironbridge Gorge on 11 and 12 August 1976. They also visited the Coalport China Works (which was to take over the Caughley manufactory within three years).
