This work depicts the half-length seated figure of a Jewish teacher, almost full face, with a brown beard and moustache. He is dressed in a black coat, white shirt and dark-brown fur cap. In the background is a light-brown embroidered cloth bearing a decorative panel embroidered in blue, gold and pink. A reddish-brown strip above bears an inscription in Hebrew.
